If I were Danny Ainge I would draft...

In this years draft there aren't many prospects who excite me, however the celtics can get a somewhat decent player with 16th pick and below are a couple i think danny ainge might consider.

Gorgui Dieng is a native of Senegal and came to the United States in 2009 as a lanky 187-pound teenager. Since arriving on Louisville's campus, Dieng has blossomed into a 6'11", 245-pound athletic big man. With the celtics desparate need for a big Dieng could come as a helping hand.

''Dieng will likely establish a long career in the NBA as a defensive enforcer in the paint, but if he can continue to develop his game on the offensive end, he could have upside to become an All Star.''

Danny Ainge scouting in Greece

Danny Ainge is always looking around the world for the best talent it has to offer. Comparisons are being drawn to a certain Scottie Pippen(of which i personally think is absurd!), However I'm all for it if Danny Ainge sees those signs. Its a bit too early to begin analysing draft picks however it has to be said it gives me a warm feeling that the NBA through the course of the last couple of years per say, has been giving some attention to players in Europe.Although i feel he is not worth a top twenty pick he is a big guy who handles the ball well, reminiscent of KD.  But this shows signs the celtics already have rebuilding on their minds.

Randolph:help not hinder.

With just couple of games left, there is without a doubt who would get playing time when playoffs begins.  When the celtics faced the wzards Doc went with the big lineup:  Avery Bradley, Paul Pierce, Green, Brandon Bass, and Kevin Garnett. In doing so he created a scenario where I felt Shav and Chris were competing for minutes.
I wondered who Doc would go to. When Shav checked in the game first he seemed to produce for a man who had a recent spell in the Chinese league, however Wilcox performed well too.Randolph played just over 15 minutes last night.  He was Garnett’s back up-obviously.  In those 15 minutes,Randolph  the best rebounder on the floor , grabbing  defensive rebounds, desparately what the celtics need.

Is it motivation driven by losing minutes to a mid-season acquisition? Wilcox performed in a new role last night.  And that new role is made possible by Shavlik Randolph being able to handle things on his own while Garnett rested.  While we don’t know yet if this is sustainable, it’s entirely possible that Randolph’s ability to hold the fort isn’t the death-knell for Wilcox’s time in Boston.  It might just be what keeps him here.
